چکیده

Allylic alcohols and their derivatives are readily available organic compounds that frequently employed in synthesis. These allylic substrates add oxidatively to transition metals form π-allyl metal species, which instantly become nucleophilic under reductive conditions react with various electrophiles including the rather stable CO2 afford synthetically useful β,γ-unsaturated carboxylic acid derivatives. In this review, we focus on recent advances such catalytic umpolung carboxylations of allyl alcohols, acetates, pivalates, halides thermal, photochemical, electrochemical conditions. Recent advances in catalytic hydrogenation of carbon dioxide.

Owing to the increasing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO(2)), human life and the ecological environment have been affected by global warming and climate changes. To mitigate the concentration of CO(2) in the atmosphere various strategies have been implemented such as separation, storage, and utilization of CO(2). Although it has been explored for many years, hydrogenation reaction, an important ...

Base-mediated carboxylation of unprotected indole derivatives with carbon dioxide.

A simple and straightforward method for the preparation of indole-3-carboxylic acids was discovered through the direct carboxylation of indoles with atmospheric pressure of carbon dioxide (CO(2)) under basic conditions. The key for the reaction was found to be the use of a large excess of LiO(t)Bu as a base to suppress the undesired decarboxylation side reaction.

Direct carboxylation of allylic halides with carbon dioxide in the presence of indium.

A highly regioselective indium-mediated allylation of carbon dioxide starting from simple allylic halides (X = I, Br, Cl) has been developed. No transition metal catalyst is needed and an inert atmosphere is not necessary. The reaction tolerates a wide range of synthetically attractive functional groups with a very high branched regioselectivity.

Switchable Site-Selective Catalytic Carboxylation of Allylic Alcohols with CO2.

A switchable site-selective catalytic carboxylation of allylic alcohols has been developed in which CO2 is used with dual roles, both facilitating C-OH cleavage and as a C1 source. This protocol is characterized by its mild reaction conditions, absence of stoichiometric amounts of organometallic reagents, broad scope, and exquisite regiodivergency which can be modulated by the type of ligand em...

Recent advances in carbon dioxide capture with metalorganic frameworks

Uncontrolled massive release of the primary greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (CO2) into atmosphere from anthropogenic activities poses a big threat and adversely affects our global climate and natural environment. One promising approach to mitigate CO2 emission is carbon capture and storage (CCS), in which ideal adsorbent materials with high storage capacity and excellent adsorption selectivity ov...
